Late Chief Obuoforibo Ngeribomieka, popularly known as (Onye), Son of Late Community leader, Elder Ngeribomieka or Aringeribomieka was the Patriarch of Obuoforibo (Onye) a prominent Ogu family.
He was one of the most formidable Wakirike- Se men of the 17th century and he was the father of several illustrious Sons and Daughters of ancient Ogu Kingdom; Wakirike-Se (Okrika clan) of Ijaw extraction which include grand, greatgrandchildren and great great grandchildren and Great-great great grandchildren.

Distinguished Paramount High Chief James Onye Ebenezer.JP, generally known as James Onye by the entire Wakirike-Se, Administrator, Community/ religious leader, adviser, an epitome of unity, Head of Opudere War-Canoe House of Loko Royal group of Houses and once chairman, Okrika Clan Divisional Council of Chiefs in 1950’s and 70, s. Justice of Peace of the Rivers State Government.
Se-Alabo James Onye is the First Chairman of Obuoforibo (Onye) Family. A Devout Christian of Anglican Communion,
He was Chairman, Parish Laity Council and Organist of the St Martin Anglican Church, Ogu Town, Diocese of Okrika, Church of Nigeria. His tenure as Organist of St Martin’s spanning three decades, witnessed tremendous spiritual growth, increase in membership and branch expansion.
He has the fear of God Almighty at heart during his reign as JP in Ogu Kingdom, no subsequent traditional Chieftain has surpassed it. He is a descendants of great Obuoforibo onye and leader of Ogu people from 1960,s till 1979. He is very close to his first Cousin Madam Bernice Obuoforibo of blessed memory.
His legacy will forever live on in the hearts and minds of every Obuoforibo (Onye family members). 
                           
                                   
His Royal Highness, King Ellioth Iyayesegobama John Ada; Loko V111 (JP), late King, Amayanabo of Ogu Town, (a retired High Court registrar). In 1979, because of his hard work and example character he was installed with the revered Kingship title of Amayanabo by the entire people of Ogu Kingdom.
He is regarded as one of the traditionally well dress and respected Amayanabo in Wakirike Se during his monarchy. He reigned 1979-2000.
Elder Johnny George Obuoforibo Community Elder, Trader. Elder Johnny grandson of our revered Patriarch Onye and Second Chairman of Obuoforibo (Onye) Family in the late 80’s and father of late Professor George Johnny Obuoforibo of University of Port Harcourt and Uncle to Madam Oribi
Wakama, grandson of Obuoforibo (Onye). During the burial of Madam Bernice Obuoforibo in May 1996, Elder Johnny made Vote of Thanks on behalf of her aged Children, who are of age 70plus and the entire Onye family because of the utmost Love for one another.
He is a fierce defender, work for the success and unity of Obuoforibo (Onye) family until his passage in July 2004.

Principal of Government Technical College Tombia and Port Harcourt. Alumni of University of Hull, United Kingdom. one of the best in academic excellence and Hull the 14 th oldest University in England. He is the author of Amabara: The untold History of Wakirike etc.
Chief. Engr .S. T. Anga, Son of Pa Walter Alanengi Atemie,grandson of Pa. Alamienengika (Alanengi), the last Son of Onye. Chief. Engr.S. T. Anga is a well respected Se Alabo of Wakiribese and Ijaw nation.

Elder Gordon Aaron Dike Atemie. Teacher, Administrator and Community Elder. Retired Director at University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) and Alumni of University of Maiduguri, Bornu State. Third Chairman of Obuoforibo (Onye) Family, son of late Madam Hannah Ifubaraboye Obuoforibo and grandson of Pa Obuoforibo.            

                     
Late Elder, Superintendent Apostle General, Hon.Maxwell Tamunomie Iyama, JP, fondly called Godday by his relatives. Clergyman, Territorial Chairman (East) of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Politician, Respected Community leader and advocate of peace in Ogu Town. Elder Godday is the Fourth Chairman of Great Obuoforibo (Onye) Family, Alumni of University of Port Harcourt, former elected Councilor and Supervisory Councilor in old Bonny Local Government in 70’s during the transitional programmed of General Olusegun Obasanjo military Government.
First Chairman of defunct Okrika/Oyigbo/Tai-Eleme (OTELGA) Local Government Area of Rivers State during the Second Republic of President Alhaji Dr. Shehu Shagari of defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN), a former Chairman of Rivers State government owned Delta Rubber company;
during the Third Republic. In 1997 elected to Rivers State House of Assembly under the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party UCPN during General Abacha autocratic rule and Chieftain of Ijaw National Congress, INC Pan-Ijaw social political group.
He died peacefully on 2 February 2015. Pa Godday, the Son of late Madam Bernice Obuoforibo, grandson of Ma. Fiedinpeleka Obuoforibo, daughter of Onye and Awaripakasa.

Madam Oribi Eugene Wakama. JP Retired Educationist at the Rivers State Ministry of Education and Alumna of the Premier University of Ibadan and Product of famous Archdeacon Crowder Memorial Girls’ School Elelenwon, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
In her work as a Teacher she distinguished by her complete devotion and her ability to impact great knowledge to her Students, majority of her Students are in different professional fields of endeavors , In Rivers and Bayelsa states some are Directors, Permanent Secretaries , Civil Commissiones and Executives in multi national corporation etc.
And she is one of the respected daughters of Onye’s. She is whole-hearted, unflinching and strongwoman of the family and dearly loved her maternal grandfather family at heart. Her contributions to the lives of many in Onye family is uncountable.
Madam Oribi she is one of the most beautiful daughters of the
family and Ogu. Daughter of Ma. Awaripakasa Susan George Chieduko, granddaughter of Pa. George Obuoforibo son of Obuoforibo (Onye) the Great. The Patriarch of Onye’s.
Deacon. Elder Tamuno-Irowarisima. JP. B.A., M.A, Security Expert, Broadcaster, Writer, Assistant Director General (ADG) Department of State Security Services (DSS) Pioneer graduate of the University of Port Harcourt and Alumni of the University of Ibadan. He holds a Master’s degree in English Language from the premier University UI the oldest degree-awarding institution in Nigeria. And also, educated at National institute for Security Studies, Abuja, Nigeria’s Elite Security Institute in Nigeria. Alumni of Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, Badagry. Elder Tamuno served as the State Director of (SDS) in Benue and Ekiti States and he also served as an Assistant Director in Operations and Intelligence in Oyo and Bayelsa States and in the National Headquarter Directorate and Presidential Villa (ASO Rock). Elder Tamuno an revered intelligence senior officer of great excellence in Intelligence community. He is regarded as reliable for the creation of Ogu/Bolo LGA during the regime of General Sanni Abacha. Presently actively works towards the peace and development of Onye family,
Ogu Kingdom, Wakirike Se, Ijaw-land, Niger Delta region and Nigeria.

Ekaro utilized her position, full employment of family members and Ogu Apu, Wakirikese etc and providing many free Water borehole’s in Ogu Kingdom and her satellite villages.

Elder, a Clergyman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church and retired Fire and Safety Senior Staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) grandson of late Pa. George Obuoforibo (Onye) and great grandson of Onye the Great. Elder George a Courageous  and eloquent personality in the protection of his father's heritage. 
Presently, his the Chairman Elders Council in Ogu Kingdom.
Late Elder .Uncle Lekiri Chieduko. Snr. Teacher,Community Elder, Retired Nigerian Custom Service Senior officer, an Alumni of prestigious Howard University in Washington, DC. USA. Handsome, brilliant, fluent and discipline son of late Madam Awaripakasa Susan Chieduko nee George Obuoforibo and immediate younger brother to Madam Oribi Wakama and great-grandson of Obuoforibo (Onye).
Pa. Uncle Chieduko was a kind and loving person and always lived up to his name. He lives in our hearts and memories forever. Gone but never forgotten big Uncle.
Late Professor George Johnny Obuoforibo.
Senior lecturer, former Head, Department of Political and Administrative Studies, University of Port Harcourt, an Alumni of University of Mumbai India. He specializes in International Relations and a fellow of Indian Council of Social Sciences Research, member of the Indian Council of World Affairs he worked as a Research Investigator of the Indian Council of Social Science Research Project on Parliament and Indian Nuclear Policy at the Department of Defense Studies, University of Poona, India. He is also a distinguished member of Professional bodies. Nigerian Society of International Affairs, Nigerian Political Science Association. Elder, respected Warisenibo of Abeji, Opugoh and Inuma- Abeji War Canoe Houses of Ogu Town.
Prof. Obuoforibo, first son of community leader Pa. Jonny George Obuoforibo, the second Chairman of our great Obuoforibo (Onye) Family and respected son of the family and Ogu kingdom; the saddest moment of the Onye’s was his early demise hugely felt by the entire Ogu Kingdom, Wakirike
Se and the academic circle in Ijaw land.

Prof. Josiah Dagogo Atemie Senior Lecturer, former Head, Department of Sociology, having served as the Director of General-Studies, University of Port Harcourt. Alumni of University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo OAU and Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Third son of late Madam Hannah Ifubaraboye Obuoforibo and grandson of Obuoforibo.(Onye).
Late Chief Levi Ali is a retired Shell staff and Head Chief of
Alli-Igonibi War-Canoe House of Ogu.

Dame Helen B.T. Iruene. JP. A community advocate, Choir mistress, Business woman and wife of Career Diplomat. She has travel extensively around the world during years of her husband in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Helen was a determined Obuoforibo (Onye) family member and first
daughter of the first Chairman of the family, Paramount ruler James Onye.

Served both at Sea and Ashore, in Seaman Department and trained in law enforcement (Regulating branch) Provost duties, detective and Investigator in the Nigerian Navy (Special Investigation Bureau) Interrogation, organizes, conducts, and manages investigations of cases of alleged misconduct and other offences by members of the Nigeria Navy subject to service discipline for 16 years.
Karibo- Nelson is experience in operational security and served in various field of VIP Protection including Chief of Naval Staff and Deputy Chief of Defense Staff at Defense Headquarters, Maintain order and discipline as Master at arms (MAA) in premier base of the Nigerian Navy NNS BEECROFT formerly (NNS OLOKUN) an operations base at Apapa, Lagos. Also served in, The Economic Community of West African States
Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) peace keeping operations in West African States of Liberia and Sierra Leone. He is a specialist in the field of Physical security and security of facilities; he has long years of experience working with Oil and Gas sector. DCP. Miebaka Iyotoru. Deputy Commissioner  of Police, son of late Madam Ibiyesemiema Iyotoru nee Chieduko daughter of late Madam Awaripakasa Susan Chieduko nee George Obuoforibo, granddaughter of Obuoforibo (Onye) and Ma. Awaripakasa (Onye’s wife).

a Principal Police officer to Dame Patience Faka Jonathan the former first lady and wife of former President Federal Republic of Nigeria His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR GCON.
Iyoloma is a great -great grandson of Onye and son of late Elder Amayeri Obuoforibo son of Elder Iwuna one of the numerous sons of our Patriarch Onye.
Late Warrant Officer (WO). Onumodu Dabipi. rtd Soldier,
Elder, Chief Security Officer (CSO) Government Comprehensive Secondary School Borikiri, Port Harcourt. He was Onye Oko tibi dabo (Head of Onye section) in the Elders Council in Abeji War Canoe House before is demise. Abeji Omuaru is comprises of Onye and Atemie respectively any
other one is sub-unit. Elder Dabipi is Second Son of late Ma. Kienka, daughter of Akpobia or Kpobia. Madam Kpobia was daughter of late
Madam Imbirebeiselolomaye Naomi Onye, the first daughter of Ma. Awaripakasa Onye and one of the many daughters of Onye.
Dabipi ,a  veteran of the Armed forces of Nigeria. He is a specialized Artillery bombardier of the Nigerian Army. And also, of the defunct elite 3rd Marine Commando unit during the brutal Biafra civil war under late Brigadier General Benjamin Adekunle alias Black Scorpion. Third Marine Commando unit mostly made up of Ijaw’s gave decisive victory against the
secessionist forces in the 60’s.

Francis Chieduko. Agric Extension Professional Officer, Alumni of Rivers State University, formerly Rivers State University of Science and Technology Port Harcourt.
Presently, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Francis, he has deep affection for Onye family members. Like father like son. Son of our dearly beloved late Elder. Uncle Francis Chieduko Snr.
                             

Pastor Benjamin Iyama. Clergyman at Baptist Church. Graduate of Accounting from University of Port Harcourt. Played amateur football in Nigeria and applied this trade in Italy. He is a qualified sport consultant, he had work within and outside shores of Nigeria with reputable sports organizations, On returned back to Nigeria, where he had applied his trade with great success. Pst.Benji attended the prestigious Baptist Theological Seminary Ogbomoso where he graduated with Masters in Theology. As a Clergy he is known for his depth and knowledge in guidance and counselling .One real quality of Pastor Benjamin Iyama is he read, write and speaks Italian language fluently. He is son of late Elder Hon. Maxwell Tamunomie Iyama and grandson of Madam Bernice Onye .
           

Comrade Samuel GEORGE. Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Chieftain, Former President of Ijaw Youth Council Eastern Zone, the zone comprises of the Ijaws in Rivers and Akwa -Ibom state respectively. National Coordinator Patriotic Ijaw youth Leaders Forum in Niger Delta. In 2020 he was awarded, Bayelsa Youth Leadership Award by the Bayelsa State Government on Youths Engagement for Global Action.
Presently, Director General Assembly of Niger Delta Indigenous People (ANDIP).
                                 
Late Madam Bernice Obuoforibo 1890 – 1995 (105). First
daughter of late Madam. Fiedinpeleka Onye and granddaughter of the great legendary Onye of Ogu Kingdom and Elder Sister of late Ma. Inibidikima Obuoforibo mother of late Community leader MacDonald and Igbikinemiseworima Daso Kalaiyo nee Obuoforibo.
Ma. Bernice strong advocate of Onye family. She is very closed to her first Cousins, Ma. Awaripakasa Susan Chieduko nee George Obuoforibo, late Pa.Ogbonna and High Chief James Onye Ebenezer. JP, the most respected
Paramount ruler in Ogu Kingdom during his reign of peace, stability and development.

 
Late Madam Chukubomuebobo Edna Ibifuro Abbey nee
George Obuoforibo 1921—2019 (98) younger sister of late Elder Johnny, and granddaughter of Obuoforibo the great and his wife Ma Awaripakasa. 
Madam Chukubomuebobo (Chukubo) was named after our Patriarch Obuoforibo (Onye’s) Mother.
I duly acknowledge all other sons and daughters of our great descendants whose name are not on this update list, whose support we, benefited from as family. The Onye’s are very diplomatic people, in the sense that they
are very circumspect, intelligent, knowledgeable , Prosperous , steadfast and know when things are going to be fairness and powerful in Ogu Kingdom and generally known as Onye Mafia by the entire Ogu people.
Imbirebeiselolomaye, she is the senior sister to Ma. Fiedinpeleka, Elder Dike Aaron and George Obuoforibo all of blessed memories.
Obuoforibo (Onye) lineage: The only man in Ogu Kingdom cuts across the five major original group of Houses of Ogu Kingdom, namely Ofiomani, Loko, Ama, Omodara, and Kurukuru Omuaru-Wari yingese; as well as Ogoloma Town,Okuru -Ama, Kala-Ogoloma and Okrika. Presently ,Six  (6) of Onye Descendants are Traditional Chiefs in Ogu Kingdom.
Chief Obuoforibo who died in pre-independence era was a great Merchant Chief in his time. A close friend of Late Chief Inyanaboitamuno George of George-Ama in Ado Royal House of Okrika, Okrika local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. Obuoforibo (Onye), Omu-Alabo, Wealthy, Brave Warrior, Successful leader of his people Wakirike-bese in his time. He
respected and acknowledged honesty and hard work.
                               

Late Madam Tamunoene Sunday Opuda  1929- 2011 (82) popularly called Titi ,Third child of late  Madam Bernice Obuoforibo , is a respected member and a Third -generation  descendant of the great Obuoforibo (Onye) of Ogu Kingdom. born in 1929. Her father , late community leader  Bennett Opuda, was a well known Palm produce merchant of the colonial era and elder brother to late Paramount Chief Caleb Sika Nna of Furubowarifama  War Canoe House, then Omodara War Canoe House, one of the original main group of Houses .
She is a devoted Christian who was baptized  on 4th January,1959 by late Revered  J.O. Buseri and confirmed on  25 June 1989 by the late Rt Rev S.O. Elenwo, then Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese at St Martin's Anglican Church Ogu. She is an active member of the Anglican communion, and worshipped at St Martin's Anglican Church ,Ogu ,  Diocese of Okrika,  Church of Nigeria, Okrika South Archdeaconry,  where she also belongs to the Mother's Union group. Until her passing into glory on Thursday 26 May 2011, she remains committed in strengthening the family bonds.

bo is a annual festival by a young virgin, maiden in Ogu from the October- December that moved her from a girl into womanhood within Wakirike bese, Okrika Clan of the Eastern Ijaw. Presently, it is only Ogu kingdom and Koni Ama in Okrika Local Government   Area in Rivers State that still practices the cultural events.

The current chief of Abeji War-Canoe House in Ofiamani main-group of Houses in Ogu Town, Ogu/Bolo local government area of Rivers State is Chief. Captain. Loveday Dasimiekuma , a retired Nigerian Army Officer and veteran of the defunct elite's 3 Marine Commando Division. He succeeded late Chief N. F. Atemie -Abeji in 2011.
